Paris Opera are presenting some
marvellous opera productions during the course of the year. These
include La Fille du Regiment, les Noces de Figaro and Les Contes
d'Hoffman which was Offenbach's last work. Any of these will prove a
pure joy for opera lovers. But even if you do not have the time or
the inclination to attend the opera it is still worthwhile to visit
the Palais Garnier at place
de l'Opéra. Every day, the opera house is open to visitors giving
everyone a chance to appreciate the splendour of its sculptures,
frescoes and the many ornate features that gild the elegant foyers,
auditorium and striking grand staircase.
